There is a full-time position available in the News department for a Line-up Editor. The successful candidate will report to Mike Katrycz, VP News.  

 

The following is a paraphrase of the primary functions and does not outline all of the duties and responsibilities for this position:

  • Line up newscasts
  • Write scripts
  • Co-ordinate resources
  • Conduct research
  • Initiate story ideas
  • Develop and maintain contacts
  • Other duties as required

 

The ideal candidate must possess:

  • At least one year of news writing experience in a major market
  • At least six months of lining up newscasts in a live and fluid environment
  • A demonstrable ability to assess and determine editorial priorities
  • Superior spelling and grammar skills
  • Superior organizational skills
  • Must be prepared to work various shifts, including overnights
  • A broadcast diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • A working knowledge of ENPS
  • Familiarity with current events in Southern Ontario and beyond
