We have an exciting opportunity available for a weather and traffic reporter who excels at accurately analyzing and forecasting weather and staying on top of traffic conditions, and has a personality that shines through pre-dawn darkness and evening shade.   


The following is a paraphrase of the primary functions and does not outline all of the duties and responsibilities for this position:


  • Gather, prepare and present insightful, accurate and engaging weather and traffic reports
  • Prepare weather and traffic content for digital and social publication
  • Initiate stories and segments
  • Other duties as required


The ideal candidate must possess:


  • At least two years of weather and traffic reporting experience in a live broadcast environment
  • A demo reel exhibiting major-market excellence
  • Demonstrably engaging live presentation skills
  • A commitment to working split shifts (morning and evening)
  • Demonstrably strong spelling and grammar skills
  • A working knowledge of Baron Weather System
  • Superior organizational skills
  • A broadcast diploma or equivalent
  • A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • An enhanced driver’s licence or passport
  • A working knowledge of ENPS



This is a union position: News Reporter, Functional Group G.1, Classification Rate 10. This position will require a split shift for the Morning Live and Evening News. This opportunity could be full-time or part-time depending on the successful candidate(s).
