This notification will serve to inform that a career opportunity exists at CHCH TV in Hamilton, Ontario.

 

There is a part-time position available in the News department for News Videographer. The successful candidate will report to Mike Katrycz, VP of News.   

 

The following is a paraphrase of the primary functions and does not outline all of the duties and responsibilities for this position:

 

  • Shoot, edit and report news stories
  • Conduct Research
  • Write copy
  • Develop and maintain contacts
  • Initiate story ideas
  • Other duties as required

 

The ideal candidate must:

  • Possess at least one year of news videographer experience
  • Demonstrate superior journalism and visual storytelling skills
  • Demonstrate strong spelling and grammar skills
  • Be well organized
  • Be prepared to work various shifts
  • Possess a broadcast diploma or equivalent
  • Have a valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record
  • Have a working knowledge of ENPS, Final Cut 10 and ENG
  • Have comprehensive knowledge of the newsmakers and current events of Hamilton, Halton and Niagara

 

This position falls within the scope of the Collective Agreement: Group 11 G2.  Any employee who believes she/he is qualified, and who has an interest in this career opportunity should inform her/his manager in writing of such interest.  The Manager will advise the applicant as to the process to be followed.  This hiring decision will be made by Mike Katrycz, V.P. of News.
